Jason's brother had this adorable Bulldog and needed to find it a home. He knew just the right place for her.
Trixie came home with mom last week and she is so sweet! We went to see her this weekend and she was great with Claire and Claire loved on her too.
My mom has a special place in her heart for bulldogs, and I am so glad that Trixie is now a part of the family.

Like Mother Like Daughter

Many of my friends know how much I love ice. Back in college I would go to Sonic and get a Route 44 cup of ice. No drink, just Ice.
Jason knew about my love for crushed ice, so when we moved to Mobile, he bought me this ice machine. It makes the best crushed Ice.

Claire has discovered this machine and how to open it, and loves to eat the crushed ice.

Her love isn't just for crushed ice. She dug into the cooler at the tailgate one weekend and went to town eating all the ice.
She is so much like her mom!

It all started on Thursday when we went to Tupelo to the Children's Consignment Sale.
They had a huge Furniture building full of clothes, shoes, toys, and a Barbie Jeep. Claire would not get out and when we would take her out, she would climb right back in. She loved it!
This weekend, Landon took Claire for a ride in his car and as you can see she thought it was so cool!!
I know what this little girl is getting from Santa.

If I were President

With the big Presidential Debate this weekend in Oxford, we are doing a unit on Presidents this week at school.
Yesterday we were talking about what the president does and who he is. The answers I got were great. As I was talking about how he runs our country and the things he does, a little girl raised her hand and said as serious as can be that she lives in the country and the President was her nieghbor. You gotta love 5 and 6 year olds. They make me smile everyday!

If they could be president, they would eat junk food and play all day!

Jason's New Ride

Jason got his new car on Friday and was so ready to be able to drive again. He is off his crutches and gets around great in his boot.
He got to take Claire to school today for the first time since his wreck. I know she was so excited to be able to sleep in and hang out with her daddy before school this morning. I had been waking her up early and taking her in when Happy House opened at 6:30am so I could make it to work in time. I know she will enjoy that extra sleep like I will.
I was the first to drive our new ride and we love it. Now, I can finally give my mom her SUV back.

Claire enjoyed the Ole Miss football game this weekend and cheered the Rebels onto victory.

Our very good friends, The Johnsons, came to visit for the weekend for the Ole Miss/Samford football game. Martha just graduated from Pharmacy School at Samford so it was a fun weekend for them to come watch football. Erik is from New York and they are stationed in Missouri before he is deployed around Christmas. This was his first trip to Oxford and the Grove which is quite the experience, especially with the band playing Dixie as the football team walks down the Walk of Champions and all the tailgating. We had so much fun hanging out with you guys and we miss yall so much!

Claire was a huge hit at the game. Some friends from Jackson and their family sat in front of us and they were so sweet to let Claire "bother" them the whole game. She loved on Wes' dad's back the whole game and gave him kisses on the cheek, and played with his mom's hair. I kept apologizing but they wanted to take her home with them so I think they loved it. She also danced and clapped as the band played and cheered on the rebels. This girl loves her some football.

I have some really cute pictures from the weekend but my cord that connects my camera to the computer is not working anymore. I think Claire got a hold of it. Hopefully I will get a new one soon!

Close but not Close Enough

We dropped Claire off in Jackson at my mom's for the weekend and flew to Raleigh, NC to stay with Jason's cousin Tim and his wife Jess. We drove to Winston Salem on Saturday for the Wake Forest game and had a great time. The game was very exciting to watch and the weather was beautiful!

The scoreboard was so exciting with one minute to go when the Rebels scored a touchdown to take the lead. That minute went by very slow however and Wake Forest kicked a field goal to win the game with 3 seconds left. It was a very sad ending. The Rebels played very hard and we were still excited we went and had so much fun hanging out with family.

We went to Taylor Grocery tonight when we got home from Raleigh. If you have never been, you must go when you come to Oxford. Their catfish is wonderful. Claire danced and clapped for the guy who was playing the quitar inside.
We took these when we got home from dinner. It feels like Claire has gotten bigger in the four days we were away. She loves to play peek a boo and covers her eyes with her hands and then gets so excited when she moves them. She also loves to blow kisses and dances to every sound she hears. She is so funny.
Thanks Mom for keeping Claire while we went to Raleigh. We still woke up at 6:00 in the morning but it was nice to be able to go back to sleep for a few more hours.
